After School Programs

We offer various programs for different age groups to advance their grade and understanding in Science and Math. We go beyond traditional tutoring where we identify areas your kid needs more help on and focus on to gain total mastery in these areas.

Following are programs offered at various school levels:

High School

We know how hectic a high school student’s schedule is and work with your student to alleviate some pressure off their shoulders. High school is a time where every grade counts towards your GPA. Our instructors work with your student on maximizing their potential. We help students to prepare for their tests as well as homework.

CONSISTENCY is the key word for a high school student since the final exam is a comprehensive exam of all topics and multiple topics are interwoven into one question during finals.

Our classes are held once a week and twice every other week for 11/2 hr throughout the year as we advance from one topic to another.Total number of classes will be 6 per month.

We offer an option of our examination module that helps students practice on mock exams on the topics they have learnt.

Following Subject Offerings:

  1. Biology: Environmental Sciences, Hons. Bio and AP BIO
    Instructor: Dr. Sheetal Karnik
  2.  Chemistry: On-level, Honors and AP Chemistry
    Instructor: Dr. Sheetal Karnik
  3.  Physics: AP Physics
    Instructor: Rajat Arora
  4.  Math: Hons/Algebra, Geometry, Hons/Pre Calculus, AP Calculus
Instructor: Sofia perez-vargas, Rajat Arora, Ishaan Bakhle, Niharika Karnik (online tutoring)
  5.  PSAT, SAT, ACT Prep: Our assessment tests offer a targeted approach that preps your student with the right test taking instructions and strategies to get a high score on standardized exams.

I started with NESA when I was in Honors Biology, and I had been struggling for a while with Bio. I started this class at the beginning of my freshman year and by the end of the year I not only was able to pass the class with an A, I learned to love the subject. I also continued this class for AP Biology and SAT Biology in my sophomore year. I loved how this class was not a task for me to check off the list, but an opportunity to learn more. Dr. Karnik provided a safe, structured classroom environment, but also left room for exploration. I am so glad that I joined this class, and thank you for helping me learn!

Middle School

Honors Ready Program: These are the crucial years to prepare your child for the upcoming challenges in high school. Our middle school program offers a strong foundation for Hons./Biology, Hons./ Chemistry and Hons./ Physics.

With in depth understanding of foundation topics in these subjects, our students are well prepped to take on high school science subjects. Our students have been able to take honors and AP subjects at high school and get excellent grades.

Instructor: Dr. Sheetal Karnik, Mrs. Delna Menon

Elementary School

STEM Program: Our STEM curriculum prepares your student with the foundation necessary for challenging topics in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Our structured program offers instructions to enhance critical thinking skills along with experiments for a ‘Hands on Learning’ experience to concretize those concepts.

Our curriculum has proven results for students in classroom and beyond where a child’s ability to design experiment with advanced knowledge and understanding plus further comprehend data is developed.

Computer Programming

We offer programming classes for students at all levels:

Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
Our semester courses teach basic programming and computational concepts.

Beginner level: Students starting at beginner levels do not need to have any previous coding experience. Our students work through basic understanding of how programming works and understanding the commands. At the end of this course, your student will feel confident in his/her ability to write small programs that allow them to accomplish small goals.

Intermediate Level: Students can start with a minimal understanding of computer programming concepts. Students are progressed through the Python programming language and learn computational modes of thinking and logical aptitude. Typically students at intermediate level should have learnt math up to pre-calculus level.

Advanced Level: Once the students learn programming techniques in our beginner and intermediate classes, they develop confidence in programming in a broad range of fields. Our advanced classes teaches programming languages such as JAVA.

High School Student Hamilton High School:
I recently took the SAT Bio test, and I wanted to extend my thanks because I wouldn't have been able to be as confident as I was on the test without taking your class. I felt like it was a more accurate representation of what we covered this year versus the narrowed topics that my form of the AP covered.
Speaking of the AP, I wanted to let you know that I'm very proud of how hard I worked (regardless of my score), and I wouldn't have been able to grasp every topic as well as I did without your help.
My recommendation for NESA: This past year, I enrolled in NESA's AP Biology class, as I had heard many great reviews from students who had experienced during previous years, and I thought it would make the ride taking AP Biology a little less bumpy. During the course there was some confusion as to which school's topic should be covered during which class during the year, but in the end, we covered all the information we needed to be ready for the AP together. Being in this class, I was able to increase the productive time I spent thinking about AP Bio class at my School since I was actively learning versus staring at a notebook or textbook. The AP tutoring class was much more in depth than the AP Biology class which preps you for college if you would like to pursue the Biology route.
In preparation for the SAT Biology subject test, I enrolled in NESA's tutoring for that as well. By having spread out classes designated for the SAT, separate from the AP tutoring class, I was able to refrain from cramming and last minute studying. We worked through many practice problems that mimicked those on the exam.
As I had a heavy course load of 6 APs this past year, I enrolled in the AP Physics tutoring class that NESA offers as well. Anuj Shah managed to make my experience with AP Physics 1 flow very smoothly. We worked through many problems throughout the year, and he was able to reteach lessons to us that we didn't originally understand.
I would like to thank NESA for providing AP Bio and Physics as well as SAT Biology Subject test tutoring without which I would not have been able to grasp the details as well as I did.
